We're back for part two of the "I AM" writing assignment! Thank you for sending in your poems to me! It was lovely reading your descriptions of yourself. If you didn't get a chance to partake or if you have not one clue what I'm talking about, you can find out here.
This next installment of the writing assignment will focus on someone in your life; someone you have a great relationship with, not so good, complex, non-existent, etc. But it needs to be someone you know. The title of this piece will be, "You Are". So, each line will begin with, "You are...". Like before, you're welcome to add a short description, but keep it to one sentence, if not one word. If you choose to share your work with me, keep your poem subject anonymous!
This writing exercise helped me see myself and my relationships through a different, deeper more compassionate lens. It helped me realize that the roles and visuals I subconsciously, or consciously assign to people around me, are often a projection or a reflection of how I am feeling about myself.
Thank you for taking part in this project! I'd be honored to read your thoughts.
